Super Eagles striker Paul Onuachu has revealed how delighted he is to be voted best player of the year in Belgium.
“This prize means a lot to me, because the Belgian league is difficult”, the Nigerian International told Eleven Sports .
The 26-year-old Nigeria star also made no secret that he voted for himself.
“Yes, of course. Who knows whether that was the deciding vote,” Onuachu joked.
Onuachu netted 34 goals in all competitions in Belgium this past season to finish as Goal King in the Jupiler Pro League.
He also won the Belgium Cup and helped Genk qualify for the UEFA Champions League after they finished as runners-up to Club Brugge in the league.

The striker is the first Nigeria star to bag this prestigious award.
