Manchester United fans had been counting down the days until Paul Pogba's return prior to Bruno Fernandes joining from Sporting Lisbon this January.
But ever since the Portuguese midfielder pulled on the Manchester United jersey, he has become the club's new focal point, and he spurred them on to victory in Sunday's derby against Manchester City.
The World Cup winner may find muscling his way back into the first team at Old Trafford harder than it would have been prior to Fernandes signing.
And Pogba is seemingly aware of this as he has been staying late at Manchester United's Carrington training base to do some extra training, according to the MEN.
The Frenchman has been out of action for United since Boxing Day but is due to return to training ahead of this weekend's clash with Tottenham.
Providing an update on his situation, Solskjaer said: “Paul's still working with the physios outside and he won't be training with the first-team until next week.
“And then let's see how long that will take. He needs time to get his football fitness back.”
