Bella Kolasinac, the wife of Arsenal ace Sead Kolasinac, was reportedly detained for entering the UK on a private jet with a stun gun on Sunday night.
According to The Sun, Bella Kolasinac sobbed and claimed she bought the device for self-defence after her husband and team-mate Mesut Ozil were the targets of a knife attack last October.
After that incident, she fled to Germany for her safety and obtained a legal permit to carry the stun gun, known as an ‘electro shocker'.
It is reported that the 27-year-old does not realise the device was illegal in the UK although she sought permission to import the item.
When the item was found in her luggage, she was held by Border Force officers at London Biggin Hill airport before being released.
A spokesman for Kolasinac told The Sun: “It was all a misunderstanding. The electro shocker was still in its packaging and didn’t have any batteries.
“She didn’t declare it because she didn’t think she had done anything wrong. These devices can be carried legally in a bag in Germany if the owner has a permit.
“She’s obviously very security conscious after what happened to Sead and Mesut.”
