All roads lead to Saint James' Park on Saturday as Newcastle vs Crystal Palace trade tackles in the Premier League. The match kicks off at 15:00 BST, 21 October 2023.
Both teams earned a point from their most recent fixtures before the international break, as Newcastle played out a thrilling 2-2 draw with West Ham United, while Crystal Palace's game with Nottingham Forest finished goalless.
Newcastle vs Crystal Palace team news
Despite the gambling investigation surrounding Tonali, the 23-year-old is available for Saturday's match.
Harvey Barnes is sidelined and will take months to recover from his foot surgery, while Anthony Gordon will return from a one-game domestic ban, with all of Joelinton (thigh), Alexander Isak (knee), Sven Botman (knee) and Joe Willock (calf) might be ready to go again having looked to shake off their injuries.
On the other hand, Palace are without two key attacking threats in Eze and Olise, both of whom are yet to recover from thigh problems.
Jeffrey Schlupp (knock) and Jairo Riedewald (adductor) were both casualties of the draw with Forest, where Dean Henderson and Nathan Ferguson missed out with their thigh issues, and all of Joel Ward (adductor), Matheus Franca (back), Naouirou Ahamada (ankle), Jefferson Lerma (thigh) and Cheick Doucoure (thigh) are uncertain at the time of writing.
While Doucoure was surprisingly an absentee from the meeting with Forest, he should return back to the lineup against Newcastle.

Newcastle vs Crystal Palace predictions
Although the last three meetings between Newcastle and Palace have all ended goalless after 90 minutes, we're projecting that to end this weekend with both teams expected to put up a good display at the Saint James' Park. Here are three predictions for the match.
Prediction 1: Newcastle United to reign supreme
The Magpies won four matches on the throttle which included wins against Man City and PSG before their recent draw with West Ham coming just before the international break. Coming up against a struggling Palace side with just a win in their last five games, the odds are in favour of Newcastle to win at home and banish their winless run against the visitors in under 90 minutes of football. They'll also be looking to extend their home record to four straight wins.
Prediction 2: Newcastle to score first
Eddie Howe's men have netted 17 goals in their last five games; in four of those encounters, they've opened the scoring. The Magpies have become a free-scoring team with goals coming in from several of their players. We're fairly confident in them drawing the first blood at home on Saturday.
Prediction 3: Over 2.5 goals
As mentioned above, Eddie Howe's side have been amazing in their last couple of games, this has been largely due to the understanding between the midfield and attack as goals have come from both the midfielders and the attackers. Three of their last five games have produced this market and we back this skirmish to end with at least three goals even though Palace have only managed two goals in their last five games.
Newcastle vs Crystal Palace head-to-head
In 25 matches between these sides, Newcastle United won 12 matches, Crystal Palace won 4 matches while 9 matches ended in a draw.
