Super Eagles technical head Gernot Rohr has concluded plans to enlist at least four new players to add to the list of 30 that will be available for the October FIFA window friendlies.
According to a source, Rohr had initially penciled two new players for the cancelled September friendlies but he is about to invite a goalkeeper in Europe and four new players.
The source disclosed that the invitation of a new goalkeeper is necessary because of the recent injury to first-choice goalkeeper, Daniel Akpeyi, who suffered a concussion during a league game with his Kaizer Chiefs club.
Also, Super Eagles’ home-based goalkeeper, Ikechukwu Ezenwa of Heartland FC, has not been on active duty for his side for months because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“As we speak the Head Coach is planning a 30-Man list for the October FIFA window friendly games. What he said that was key for the invitation of players is their fitness based on their regular features for their respective clubs in Europe”, the source disclosed.
”The only two players that are sure to make the list, for now, is our number one Goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, and Maduka Okoye.”
