Ronaldo to wear new limited-edition Nike boots for World Cup knockout stages

Cristiano Ronaldo will debut a new pair of limited-edition Nike boots for the World Cup round of 16.

The Portugal forward has been in sensational form in Russia so far, netting four times from three matches to help his country navigate Group B and qualify in second place.

The 33-year-old did, however, miss a penalty in their last game as Portugal could only manage a draw against Iran to set up a delightful knockout stage clash with Uruguay, who breezed through their group by winning every game.

Ronaldo announced the launch of the new Nike boots that he will wear for the remainder of the championship with a post on Instagram.

He said the boots ‘celebrate the 85th international goals' he has scored during his career.

The Portugal star will be hoping to continue his scoring streak in Russia with his new Mercurial Superfly 360 boots as he bids to win the golden boot and of course the World Cup.

The turquoise-colored boots are supported by a golden chrome sole plate and the player gave his new wheels a test drive during training on Wednesday morning at their Moscow base.

The Portugal players are fully conscious of the threat Uruguay carry and appeared focused as they started their preparations for Saturday's showdown.

Along with the boots Ronaldo will wear, 154 pairs will be made available to the public.
