Samuel Kalu Dismisses Rift Rumor With Bordeaux

Samuel Kalu has described reports of a rift between him and his French club Bordeaux as false and unfounded after the former Gent forward came on in their goalless draw away at Dijon on Saturday.

Reports in the Nigerian media says that the Super Eagles' winger could be fined for returning to training late but Kalu told AOIFootball.com exclusively that the reports where lies as nothing of such ever happened.

“It's all a lie. Forget the Nigeria news because they had no idea of the situation. The issue was that I did not initially know we will play on Saturday, I was thinking we will play on Sunday.

“I arrived Bordeaux 10:30 and our training already started at 10:00 and nobody from the club was at the airport to pick me, So they called me later and I explained to them,” the young star revealed.

His appearance against Dijon on Saturday night further showed the club had the player's backing with Kalu replacing François Kamano after 75 minutes with Bordeaux holding on for an important away point.

Kalu has started 8 matches since he moved from Belgium, scoring once in the league and creating one assist.
