Shirt Number Thiago Alcantara Will Wear At Liverpool Has Been Confirmed Ahead Of Transfer

Liverpool have now thrashed out a deal for Thiago Alcantara, who will take Jürgen Klopp's midfield to the next level.

While the Bayern Munich star awaits the green light to fly to England for a medical, the perfect shirt number is already waiting for him at Anfield.

For Bayern Munich he wore the No 6 shirt and that is currently free at Anfield following the departure of Dejan Lovren to Zenit St Petersburg.

There have been several amendments to squad numbers at Liverpool this summer but the Merseyside have always kept the No 6 shirt free.

According to Melissa Reddy of The Independent, that is the number Thiago will wear as he prepares to embark on a new adventure in the Premier League.

If circumstances change, the remaining squad number options for the 29-year-old are incredibly limited unless there are departures.

Nathaniel Clyne's No 2 shirt is up for grabs although unconventional for a midfielder.

The No 19 shirt has been available since it was vacated by Sadio Mane.

Adam Lallana's 20 shirt is also vacant following his move to Brighton and Hove Albion.

The No 25 is also an option along with 28, 29, 30 and 31.

Several stars are likely to leave with three week remaining of the transfer window and their shirt numbers too will be available.
