Special reasons why Chelsea signed Striker Lukaku from Inter

The Chelsea hierarchy had granted the quest of German manager Thomas Tuchel in the transfer market as the Blues boss requested for a high-profile striker.

That's why they provided the fund for the signature of the former Chelsea lad.

Romelu Lukaku's signing has been greeted with varying opinions as far as transfer dealings are concerned at the moment.

On the other hand, English forward Tammy Abraham has moved to join charismatic manager Jose Mourinho at AS Roma as things continue to unfold in the transfer window.

On this note, we take into real consideration, the (3) special reasons why Chelsea had signed Belgian forward Romelu Lukaku for Serie A side Inter.

Striker's Grown Reputation

The talented forward has reunited with his former side Chelsea as the Blues has paid the price to bring him back to the Premier League.

The former Everton striker has grown in leaps and bounds over the years as a player. And there is no doubt about the quality he brings to the fulcrum of a team especially for a side so ambitious as Chelsea football club.

He formed an interesting partnership with striker Lautaro Martinez at the San Siro as they have led Inter Milan to the Scudetto last season.

He's played his way into the heart of many people (pundits and fans especially) following his exploits in the Italian Serie A.

Such form has helped his growth in repute and pedigree as a person as Chelsea wanted a striker of that calibre for their team.

Lukaku has got the fear factor to thrive at the Bridge while he has the physique and mental attitude to withstand pressure from opposing defenders.

Premier League Experience

The Belgian international would be an Ideal bargain for the club as Chelsea wanted a player who could hit the ground running with goals in earnest.

With Tammy Abraham set to leave London at that time, it was clear that a striker with Premier League experience will help Chelsea's course in the season.

Though Thomas Tuchel wanted any of these three strikers for his side in the likes of Harry Kane(Tottenham Hotspur), Erling Braut Haaland (Borussia Dortmund), and Romelu Lukaku(then at Inter Milan).

But the club placed their bet on Lukaku since he's had experience playing in the Premier League for sides like Everton, Manchester United as well as current side Chelsea.

Goal Scoring Record

Lukaku has remarkably improved as a player since he left Chelsea football club as a young player in 2012.

He's matured as a centre forward thus giving him the leverage to thrive in front of goal as a striker. His all-around play has become better thanks to the managerial input former Italy boss Antonio Conte has made at the club (Inter Milan).

He's shed some weight which has helped his pace and body movement in transition even as it also boosted his acceleration in the box when in contention against the defenders.

That's why they splashed the money on him as he caught the eye of the Chelsea board with his goal-scoring record.

All these positives were based on the personal improvement Romelu Lukaku has made in his career over the past couple of years as he joined Chelsea to aid their aspirations in the season.
