Steven Gerrard has already been touted as a possible replacement for Reds boss Jurgen Klopp in four years.
Bt the Rangers boss has been warned that stepping into the German's shoes at Anfield will be a very tough task.
That's according to his former team-mate at Liverpool Glen Johnson, who adds the former Liverpool captain has got the right temperament to manage at the top level.
Klopp is contracted until 2024 at Liverpool after he signed a new contract with the club in 2019.
But the German has admitted since putting pen to paper on a new deal that he will more than likely take a sabbatical at the end of his contract, and not sign an extension.
But Johnson reckons it might be a very tough task for Gerrard.
When asked if Gerrard should take the Reds job if it was offered to him in 2024, Johnson told The Warm-Up: “Yeah definitely. He's Mr Liverpool, he loves the city in and out and he's similar to Lamps, he's got the right temperament for it.

“It's a difficult one, you kind of can't win. It's all about timing though, we have no idea what's going to happen in four years time, but when the door does open if Gerrard thinks it's the right time, I'm sure he'll take the job.”
