The Super Eagles squad is undoubtedly a pretty strong one. With the talent level that the country possesses, they have one of the most stacked squads on the continent.
As with every squad, there will be a position which has a bias of strength over others. It could be a stacked attack, stacked midfield or a stacked defence. The goalkeeping department, however small, can still be stacked with talent.
Oftentimes, that area of the pitch ends up being the strongest because of the amount of competition for places and a desire for these talented players to claim a starting position.
On the Nigerian national football team, the strongest area of the pitch would be the center forward position. This is arguably the most talented generation of strikers the country has ever produced and there are still great players who have not been called up to the Super Eagles squad yet.
A Look at Super Eagles Centre Forwards
For the most part, the Nigeria National Football team plays with one striker up top in their preferred formation which means that there are a lot of good players fighting for that role. At the moment, the player who is the first choice center forward for the team is none other than Victor Osimhen.

Osimhen became the successor to Odion Ighalo after his retirement and has already shown himself to be a worthy wearer or the number nine shirt for the Super Eagles.
He has scored 15 goals in 22 caps for the Super Eagles and is only one goal behind his predecessor Odion Ighalo. If he continues scoring at this phenomenal rate, Osimhen may become Nigeria’s all time leading scorer before long and break a record that has stood for 25 years.
It does not look like he will be displaced from his position anytime soon but there is still competition around him that keeps him on his toes. One of those is Terem Moffi.
Moffi’s gametime for the Super Eagles has been hampered by the form of Osimhen who starts ahead of him but the Nice striker has shown with his club form that he is capable of wearing the number 9 short for the country if need be.
The likes of Cyriel Dessers, Paul Onuachu and Umar Sadiq are strikers who have featured on the team and are strong options.
There are also strikers outside the Super Eagles team that are waiting in the wings for their chance to be called up and impress.
Gent striker, Gift Orban is a player that makes Super Eagles fans dream. The 20 year old is enjoying a fine season at Gent where he is scoring goals for fun. Already this season, he has scored 14 goals in 16 games in all competitions. He also recently scored a hatrick which was his third for the club since arriving in January.

When Orban eventually gets the call up, he will definitely push his teammates in that position to play better.
Chuba Akpom is another striker who is admired by Super Eagles fans. The Middlesbrough man has scored 38 goals in the Championship and was given the player of the season award for his efforts.
With his form, it is only a matter of time before he is considered for the national side.
