Nigeria has a crop of great players at the moment. There are talented players who are already full fledged Super Eagles players and there are young talents who are yet to be a part of the set up waiting for their chance.
It is an exciting generation of players who have the potential to make it to the top level of football for club and country and a few of them have stood out this season.
Their strong performances have seen them receive interest from big clubs and they may well be on the move come this summer. We look at some players who may be in line for a big move in the near future.
Gift Orban
The Nigerian forward has put European football on notice this year. At 20 years old, Orban has emerged as one of the top striker prospects in Europe and becomes another name on an impressive list of talented Nigerian forwards of this generation.
Since his arrival at Belgian side Gent in January, Orban has played 16 games and scored 14 goals, providing two assists as well. He put European football on notice in a match when he scored four goals in a single game for Gent against Zulte Waregem.
It may only be his first season in Belgium but Orban has attracted interest from Italian giants AC Milan and newly crowned Serie A winners, Napoli.
With his abilities, it is only a matter of time before the young forward becomes a feature in the Nigeria National football team. He may even make the squad for AFCON 2023 if the Super Eagles qualify.
Samuel Chukwueze
This season has been a brilliant one for Samuel Chulwueze. Known as a player with prodigious talent, the issue with him has been putting it all together and adding more end product to his game. This season, he looks to have done just that.
The Villareal man is enjoying a fine season currently, with 12 goals and 10 assists to his name. Statistically it is his best season and he has begun to show the high end talent that he possesses.
He will be entering the final year of his Villarreal contract this summer and there have been talks held over an extension for the Super Eagles winger. Reports surfaced recently that those talks have stalled amid interest from 14 time UEFA Champions League winners Real Madrid.
He will command a hefty price if he is to leave La Ceramica and there will no doubt be interest from parties across Europe.
Victor Osimhen
The last but not the least is Victor Osimhen. The Super Eagles striker just led Napoli to a historic Scudetto and is now one of the most sought after forwards in Europe.
Already he is at a big club in Napoli who reached the quarter finals of the Champions League but the biggest hitters in Europe, particularly the English Premier League are currently after his signature.
He will not come cheap as his price tag has been quoted at north of €150 million which will make him the most expensive African player ever.
