The Super Falcons of Nigeria battled Australia women's team for all three points in their second Group B match of the 2023 FIFA Women's World Cup. The heavyweight clash took place at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane, Australia on Thursday.
The Super Falcons are appearing at the Women's World Cup for the ninth time, and have determined to go past the group stage in this year's event.
They began the 2023 Women's World Cup with a draw against Canada, and needed all the points against Australia to stand a good chance of qualification.
Nigeria women's team, Super Falcons, came from behind to thrash the Australians 3-2 in front of their home crowd as goals from Uchenna Kanu, Osinachi Ohale and Asisat Oshoala condemned the Australians to their first defeat in the competition.

The Super Falcons next play Ireland women's team on 31 July. The Irish team are without a point in this year's event so far having lost their first two games.
With four points at the moment for the Super Falcons, Waldrum's team needs just a point to qualify into the next round, but they'll be going for all three points to secure top spot in Group B.
