Super Falcons players’ salary: who earns the most and what is known
Photo: IMAGO / Xinhua

On 28 July 2025, President Bola Tinubu received the Super Falcons at the State House in Abuja, a day after their tenth Women's Africa Cup of Nations title in Rabat. He announced $100,000 for each player, a national honour, a three-bedroom apartment and ₦10 million from the Nigeria Governors' Forum. That tells you most of what is publicly known about Falcons pay.

Almost nothing else is. Clubs in Saudi Arabia, France, England and Mexico do not publish what they pay. Neither does the Nigeria Football Federation.

This is a map, not a rich list.

At a glance What is published
Individual club salaries Not published for any current Super Falcon
Presidential reward, July 2025 $100,000 per player (about ₦134.7 million at ₦1,346.91/$, the official NFEM rate on 29 October 2026)
CAF prize, WAFCON 2024 $1 million, double the $500,000 of 2022
NWSL minimum, 2025 season $48,500, rising to $82,500 by 2030
Liga F minimum, 2025/26 €23,500 under the 2023 agreement

Who plays where, and what that tells us

The squad named on 29 September 2026 for the Olympic qualifier against Comoros is spread across four continents. Chiamaka Nnadozie is at Brighton and Hove Albion, Rasheedat Ajibade and Jennifer Echegini are at Paris Saint-Germain, Toni Payne is at Inter Milan and Shukurat Oladipo is at AS Roma, while Glory Ogbonna and Suliat Abideen play in Turkey. Nigeria won 7-0 on aggregate, with Toni Payne, Uchenna Kanu and Christy Ucheibe all scoring in the 5-0 second leg in Ikenne on 13 October, and the Falcons now meet Morocco.

Saudi Arabia now hosts some of the biggest names. Asisat Oshoala joined Al-Hilal from Bay FC on a two-year deal announced on 2 September 2025, and Al Jazeera reported that no fee or salary was disclosed. Christy Ucheibe is also at Al-Hilal. Ashleigh Plumptre is at Al-Ittihad. Guesses about Saudi pay circulate online. None comes from a club or a league. We leave them out. Our Oshoala salary guide explains why we do not repeat them.

In the United States, Michelle Alozie is at Chicago Stars and Gift Monday moved from Washington Spirit to Boston Legacy in October 2026, while Deborah Abiodun remains at Washington Spirit and is recovering from injury. The terms were not given. No figure. See our Abiodun profile. Uchenna Kanu plays in Mexico for Cruz Azul Femenil. Halimatu Ayinde has been at BK Häcken in Sweden since January 2026. Ifeoma Onumonu retired in October 2025. She belongs in no salary list.

None of the 28 plays in Spain. Echegini signed for Paris Saint-Germain on a three-year deal from 10 July 2024, and our Echegini profile has the detail, again without a published wage.

The floors that are public

Leagues with collective agreements do publish minimums. They are the only league figures worth attaching to Falcons.

The NWSL agreement announced in August 2024 sets a minimum of $48,500 for 2025, about ₦65.3 million at today's rate, climbing to $82,500 by 2030. A minimum is not a wage. Floor, not ceiling. Alozie or Monday may earn well above it, and nobody outside the club and the union can say how far.

Spain's Liga F agreed a minimum of €21,000 for 2023/24, €22,500 for 2024/25 and €23,500 for 2025/26 after a week-long strike in September 2023, CNN reported. Figures could rise with commercial revenue.

At home, Edo Queens, Nasarawa Amazons, Robo Queens and Bayelsa Queens supply players to the squad. None publishes a wage scale. We found no verified NWFL minimum. Anyone quoting a monthly figure as fact is guessing.

No league floor covers Saudi Arabia, Mexico or France in anything we could verify.

Bonuses and arrears: what has been published

For the national team itself, money has arrived in rewards and in disputes. CAF's prize for the 2024 WAFCON title was $1 million. Sports Market International reported that the NFF pledged 30 percent of it, about $300,000, to the squad. The $12,500 per player is that outlet's own arithmetic. Not a confirmed payout.

The dispute began within weeks. On 16 August 2025, Legit.ng reported that National Sports Commission chairman Bukola Olopade told Arise TV the bonuses had been paid. Olopade said: “I know authoritatively that all their bonuses have been paid without going into the figures.” He blamed a few cases on account problems with the Central Bank of Nigeria. P.M. News reported, from the grapevine and without confirmation, that players refused naira at ₦1,530 to the dollar.

Earlier, on 12 July 2025, NFF president Ibrahim Gusau admitted that “we just have a little outstanding. But not up to 2021.” Osasu Obayiuwana had published, citing a source, a per-player list of unpaid camp allowances that reached back to 2021, and Gusau said he was not aware of anything that old.

By November 2025 the dispute had moved to the 2024 Paris Olympics. Legit.ng reported that match bonuses, camp allowances and winning bonuses from the Games were owed. BSN Sports quoted an NFF official saying more than 80 percent of the arrears had been cleared. No total was published.

Still no number.

Our view

An honest ranking of Falcons earners cannot be built from public data. We will not fake one. Oshoala, Nnadozie and Ajibade are the best-known names, and that is as far as the evidence goes.

The biggest cheque in the squad's recent history came from the presidency rather than from any club or from the federation, and it arrived at the same time as a public fight over what else the players were owed. The Black Queens face the same gap between pay and transparency. Until the NFF publishes bonus terms before tournaments, players will keep learning what they are owed after the final whistle. That is the story. Ajibade, the captain, fractured her ankle against Comoros on 13 October, Africa Soccer reported. Nobody has published what PSG pays her.
