Tuchel Reveals Message Lampard Sent Him After Taking Over

Thomas Tuchel has shared how Frank Lampard has reached out to wish him good luck at Chelsea after being replaced at Stamford Bridge by the 47-year-old this week.

And the former Borussia Dortmund boss has admitted his respect for his predecessor has grown after discovering a message from him this morning.

“I have the biggest respect for him and his legacy,” Tuchel said.

“But it just got bigger when I received a message this morning to wish me all the best and maybe meet in the future when it is possible.”

Despite Chelsea wielding the axe on their managers regularly over the years, the German is not concerned about the policy.

“Yes and no, at this level I am grateful to work at this level. If you sign for chelsea, you sign for the hunger of titles,” Tuchel said.

“To be absolutely competitive. I'm aware of that.
