Leon Balogun continued his impressive scoring form on Thursday after scoring in Rangers' win against Brondby in the UEFA Europa League Group A clash.
It was Rangers' first win of the campaign in the Europa League and the 33-year old, ten days after scoring the opener in Nigeria's second leg tie of the 2022 FIFA World Cup Qualifiers against Central African Republic in Cameroon, gave The Light Blues the lead in the nineteenth minute.
Balogun, former Brighton and Hoves Albion centerback, nodded home a cross from James Tavernier before Kemar Roofe doubled the tally on the half hour mark.
However, the Nigerian international was replaced by his compatriot Calvin Bassey after sixty-sixth minute when he sustained an injury while another Nigeria international Joe Aribo played the entirety of the game.
The win which was Rangers' first, has lifted Stephen Gerrard's side to the third place in the Group standing having lost their first two matches against Lyon and Sparta Prague respectively.
Rangers will travel to Denmark to face Brondby for the return leg on November 4 2021.
