Jadon Sancho became Manchester United's second signing of the summer transfer window on Friday, and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has now confirmed when the player will debut for the Red Devils.
Solskjaer confirmed that United fans will have to wait a little bit longer before seeing their new man in action.
Along with England team-mates Harry Maguire, Luke Shaw and Marcus Rashford, as well as Brazilian midfielder Fred, Sancho is not due back at Carrington until the first week of August.
“The English players and Fred, the ones who played Euros and Copa America and went all the way to the finals, needed a break as well, they're back with us in about 10 days’ time,” said Solskjaer.
That would put Sancho’s arrival date at around 3 August, ensuring he will miss the friendlies against Brentford on 28 July and Preston North End on 31 July.
Solskjaer would be expected to hand the 21-year-old some pre-season game time in his side’s final friendly before the new campaign gets underway with the visit of Leeds to Old Trafford.
If that is the case, Sancho can expect to pull on a United shirt for the first time in the friendly against Everton on 7 August.
