Wikipedia Edits Bruno Fernandes’ Page Over Penalty Issues

Bruno Fernandes' Wikipedia page has been edited after the midfielder took Manchester United's 22nd penalty of the season during the Europa League clash Sevilla.

The Portuguese midfielder made no mistake from 12 yards after Marcus Rashford was fouled, running up with his trademark hop and burying his effort in the top corner.

Remarkably, United being awarded their 22nd penalty of the season saw them break a record which had stood for four years.

Their tally of spot kicks for the season is the highest of any team in Europe's top five leagues since Barcelona were awarded 24 in the 2015/16 campaign.

Though his side's Europa League run came to an end with the 2-1 defeat to Sevilla, Fernandes' goal took his tally to 12 since joining United in January.

Eight of those goals have come from penalties and a cheeky fan saw fit to change the description of the 25-year-old on Wikipedia.

The edited introduction read: “Bruno Miguel Borges Fernandes, born 8 September 1994, is a Portuguese professional penalty kick taker who plays as a penalty kick taker for Premier League club Manchester United and the Portugal national team.”

The edit lasted for an hour before being reverted back to saying Fernandes is a “professional footballer” rather than “penalty kick taker”.
