World Cup 30-man provisional list: Samson Siasia Shocked Over Ambrose And Ajayi’s Exclusion

Samson Siasia has expressed disappointment over Gernot Rohr’s squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

After Rohr announced his provisional side ahead of the World Cup in Russia next month, Siasia says Efe Ambrose and Junior Ajayi deserved to be in the list.

The ex-Nigerian coach has expressed shock at the omission of goalkeeper Austin Ejide from the 30-man provisional list as well.

“I think Efe’s experience and form for his Scottish side Hibernian is good enough to get him into the list, and he would be of immense help to the Super Eagles defence at the World Cup while Junior Ajayi would have added firepower to the Eagles attack, and should have been given the chance to prove himself.

“All the same, the coach knows what he is doing and has picked his team, we just have to support him for Nigeria to do well in Russia.

“We cannot win the World Cup but if we emerge from the group stage, our team can spring some surprises,” the Super Eagles legend said.

On the other hand, Siasia said Uzochukwu Ezenwa, who was number one in the qualifiers, should hold on to that role for World Cup.
