Yannick Carrasco Agent Drops Transfer Bombshell Over Arsenal Move

Yannick Carrasco remains steadfastly on Arsenal's radar but there has so far been no serious drive from the Gunners to get any deal done as the Belgian winger push for a move back to Europe.

Dalian Yifang's Carrasco fits the bill for what Unai Emery wants to add to his squad this summer: a wide option blessed with pace and experience at the highest level.

Yet despite all the rumour from the continental press during the past few weeks, Arsenal's interest is believed to remain precisely that: interest.

There has been no confirmed indication that the Gunners would like to continue that further.

They are not alone in wanting Carrasco, as his agent Christophe Henrotay confirmed to HLN over the weekend.

“There are clubs that would like to sign him,” he said. “One club submitted a formal offer.

“Other clubs, such as Arsenal, also wanted to do that, but Dalian said he was not for sale.”

Bayern Munich are among the clubs who are also pursuing Carrasco.

The 25-year-old, who joined Dalian from Atletico Madrid in February 2018, has made no secret of his wish to return to Europe's top leagues and has openly criticised the “incomprehensible” attitude of the Chinese club's hierarchy in recent days, declaring he has “given my commitment and performance with the team so far.

“The team needs me and I want to help the team. This problem needs to be solved.”

However, Dalian Yifang has become frustrated with what they observe as Carrasco's antics and dumped him for their most recent game, a 2-2 draw with Tianjin Quanjian.

Their manager Cui Kangxi made clear that Dalian would not be compelled into parting with one of their marquee European signings against their wish.
