The 2023/24 season is almost over, with the Serie A already won. It is now time for Victor Osimhen to think of where his future lies.
In the last six months, Victor Osimhen has been the major talking point in Serie A, with his future being the butt of discussion.
The argument was not whether he would remain at Napoli but where he will play next.
Talks centred around a future in Real Madrid, Manchester United, Arsenal or Chelsea. The game of musical chairs seems to be heading towards London side Chelsea FC, but will that be the right move for the Napoli talisman?
There seems to be pressure from Didier Drogba and Mikel Obi for Victor Osimhen to join Chelsea in the summer, but it seems unwise to join the London club now, and here we list reasons why he should not move to Stamford Bridge.
Why Victor Osimhen must avoid Chelsea this summer
Chelsea is a side in turmoil
Following the loss to Manchester City in the FA Cup semi-final and the 5-0 thrashing at the Emirates, it is clear that Chelsea have massive problems.
Since Roman Abromovich left the Blues, Chelsea can be described, at best, as chaotic. They have traversed from one negative situation to the other.
The Blues have also had several chaotic transfer seasons, with the club seemingly without a clear plan of what they want to achieve. It is not the situation Victor Osimhen would like to walk into.

Considering Nicholas Jackson has been an embarrassment for the team, Victor Osimhen would easily walk into the team and pick up the number nine shirt. However, he needs calm at this stage of his career, not chaos, especially after the shenanigans at Napoli.
Chelsea will not be in the Champions League
Victor Osimhen has participated in the UEFA Champions League for the last two seasons. The last thing he will need at this stage in his career is a break from the gathering of the elites.
To maintain his status as a top-level player, Osimhen must compete at the highest level. It is something that is currently a luxury for Chelsea.
Victor Osimhen should join a club that can guarantee him Champions League football and a chance to excel in it. There is a reason why he turned down massive dollars from Saudi Arabia. It also means that Manchester United is a no-no for him.
It will not portend well for his brand
The situation at Napoli put a dent in the brand of the Super Eagles striker. He needs a club that can offer him calm and a positive image.
Chelsea would celebrate him and probably make him the face of the club, but the results on the pitch give no assurance that he would lead them to the promised land.
Victor Osimhen does not need to play the Superman role. The situation at Chelsea suggests it might be impossible to achieve. There is plenty of work required at the club.
Pochettino still has no idea of what his first team is
Chelsea signed too many players, with several not of Chelsea standard. The club still has plenty of chopping and changing to do.
The team has shown flashes of brilliance this season but has been largely inconsistent. It is not the kind of situation Victor Osimhen needs to walk into, as it could affect him negatively.
There are too many problems at the club for the Napoli star to come out shining like a million stars.
Pressure to deliver as a messiah
Victor Osimhen would arrive like a messiah at Chelsea. They would expect him to hit the ground running, especially as he won’t come cheap.
The former Lille star needs a more stable club, and it is something Chelsea cannot offer right now.
Where should Osimhen go?
Since Victor Osimhen is keen to play in the Premier League, his options are limited.
Manchester City already has a striker who has been delivering, except he wants to play second fiddle, which will not bode well for him. In any case, Manchester City are not interested.
Arsenal will be a good fit. The Gunners need a striker of his mould, as Gabriel Jesus has not delivered consistently. The big question is, can Arsenal afford him?
Liverpool is another good option. Following the dour performances of Darwin Nunez, the Napoli striker would easily upstage the Uruguayan.

Outside the Premier League, Real Madrid and Paris Saint Germain remain the best options. With Kylian Mbappe set to join Real Madrid, Victor Osimhen will fit in well in Paris.
If Real Madrid doesn’t get Mbappe, Osimhen would be worth looking at.
