Arsenal may find it difficult to get a deal through to sign either Houssem Aouar or Thomas Partey this summer unless they start selling players, according to The Mirror.
Mikel Arteta wants to sign a new playmaker this summer to replace Mesut Ozil in the first-team picture.
However, their final signing of the window will likely cost more than their entire spend so far, with Aouar valued at £54m and Partey at £45m.
Atletico Madrid and Lyon have taken similar stances over their star men, with neither willing to budge on their valuations.
Arsenal have reportedly agreed terms with Aouar and are ready to sign him instead of Partey, but have faced a financial issue.
They are ready to pay €35m [£32m] and have placed an offer as of Friday night, however Lyon still want more.
And according to The Mirror, the Gunners know they’ll have to sell players before the window closes in order to fund the move.
