Robert Mancini Trophies As A Manager


Number Of Trophies: 1 (Coppa Italia)

Robert Mancini started his first managerial career at the age of 36 with Serie A side Florentina.

He became the team manager in the 2001/2002 season and in that first year won the Coppa Italia.

He left the team after just one season when the management declared being under severe financial distress.

Months after leaving Florentina, Roberto Mancini became the manager of Italian rivals Lazio (2002-2004).

He also faced financial constraints with this new team, and this forced him into offloading key players.

Despite the loss of key players in Lazio, Mancini guided the team to a Coppa Italia trophy, repeating the feat he achieved with Florentina.

He left Lazio at the end of the 2004 season due to a lack of finance.

In 2004, Roberto Mancini finally got a chance to manage a club with significant resources after he was appointed the manager of Inter Milan.

He was the manager of the team from the year 2004-2008.

During his first tenure as the manager at Inter, he won two consecutive Serie A league titles.

He also won the Supercopa Italiana titles in 2005 and 2006.

Mancini had one of his best runs as a manager with Inter when he managed 17 straight league games victories during the 2005/2006 season, which was almost half of the season league games.

Robert Mancini was appointed manager of English club Manchester City from 2009-2013. 

At an early period of his tenure as the manager of the Manchester City team, he instilled a winning culture in the team, transforming them from a mid-table team to becoming a force to reckon with.

In the 2010/2011 season – his first entire season as the manager of the team, he guided the team to their first FA Cup, which was the team's first significant trophy in 35 years.

He also guided them to Champions Club Football that season. 

The following season Manchester City started strongly, and Mancini guided them to their first EPL league title after edging out local City rivals Manchester United on goal differences.

In addition to the EPL title, he guided his team to the FA Cup Community Shield title.

During 2012/2013, Mancini led Manchester City to the FA cup finals but experienced a cruel upset to a bound-to-be relegated club, Wigan Athletic.

His loss to the Wigan Athletic team and questions over his ability to deliver the UCL to Manchester City led to his dismissal two days after.

After parting ways with Manchester City, Roberto Mancini was soon appointed the manager of Turkish giant Galatasaray during the 2013/2014 season.

He spent one year with the Turkish side and within that short time, he guided them to the league title.

This was a significant achievement in Mancini's career as a manager.

He moved to inter Milan and managed the team for two years, and soon moved to Zenit.

Number Of Trophies: 1 (Euro 2020)

In the year 2018, Roberto Mancini took charge as the manager of the Italian national team and has remained their coach to date.

He led the team to its second-ever European championship at the Euro 2020 after outwitting a younger England Side in penalties after regular game time ended in a 1-1 stalemate.

He got this title in a win against the English National team in a penalty shoot-out which ended 3-2.

With his contract extended before the Euro tournament until 2026, Mancini will now continue shaping the Azzurri for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

Roberto Mancini Personal Titles

Mancini has been able to clinch some personal awards and achievements throughout his managerial career. 

He was voted the best coach of Serie A in 2007/08 by his colleagues, collecting the punching d'Oro at the Inter Milan club.

He won the manager of the month twice in December 2010 and October 2011, which was his first full season.

Mancini was inaugurated into the Italian Football Hall of Fame in 2015.

In 2019, he was awarded the Enzo Bearzot Award.

This award, Established in 2011, was a recognition given to the best Italian Managers annually.
