Arsenal fans have reacted with resentment following the club’s switch of managerial targets from Mikel Arteta to Unai Emery at the 11th hour.
Arsenal had been lining up their former player and Manchester City boss to replace Arsene Wenger after 22 years at the club.
But Emery is now the one to beat, which has left a number of Gunners fans both irritated and underwhelmed.
The Spaniard was sacked by Paris Saint-Germain this month after two years in charge.
Emery suffered a blow when Neymar was struck down by injury and Real Madrid eliminated them at the last 16 of the Champions League.
Even though he strolled to another Ligue 1 title, including adding a Coupe de France and Coupe de la Ligue, the PSG hierarchy saw fit to replace him with Thomas Tuchel.
Done with this club @Arsenal Emery, really! Careful what you wish for and all that, but Emery, the most underwhelming appointment. Ivan has to go next

Emery a totally underwhelming choice for Arsenal manager – neither a huge name w/ undeniable pedigree like Allegri nor someone young and exciting w/ connection to the club like Arteta. Prediction: he'll be gone before the end of the 2019/20 season.
