Awkward Scenes As Euro 2020 Trophy Is Smashed On Live TV

The famous Henri Delaunay trophy for Euro 2020 smashed to the floor live on Romanian TV as a presenter was forced to duck for cover.

Footage emerged of the cup taking an awkward tumble at the Arena Nationala, Bucharest.

In the clip, a presenter for national broadcaster Realitatea Plus is discussing the tournament with the trophy behind her to the left.

There is also a stand behind the host featuring sponsors.

But the wind is blowing around the stadium at the Romanian capital, straight into the back of the advertising board.

And it ends up being too much, sending the adverts falling – and also landing on the stand which has the trophy on it.

The presenter is left running to avoid a bump on the head as the trophy falls with a huge clatter.
