Champions League winners Liverpool dominate the nominations with seven players while Manchester City are behind with five players.
Spanish giants Barcelona and Real Madrid have four and two nominees each.
Unfortunately, the holder of the men's award, Luka Modric, and the world's most expensive player, Neymar missed out of this year's award.
Megan Rapinoe remains the leading candidate for the second-ever women's Ballon d'Or.
