Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) side Bendel Insurance have made the league proud by bulldozing their way past Algerian side ASO Chlef in their CAF Confederation Cup first preliminary round tie.
The Benin Arsenal were unable to muster enough attacking threat in the game but they beat the Algerian side on penalties after a 1-1 aggregate scoreline across two legs. They did well to stave off the pressure of the Chlef fans to win the ensuing penalty shootout.
Bendel Insurance will now face 2022 champions RS Berkane of Morocco for a spot in the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stages.

RS Berkane: Bendel Insurance opponents for 2nd round
RS Berkane of Morocco will play Bendel Insurance over two legs in the second preliminary round for a ticket to the 2024 CAF Confederation Cup group stages.
The club competes in the Botola Pro, the top division of the Moroccan football league. They won their second CAF Confederation Cup in 2022 and are one of the few teams to have won the trophy more than once.
They also have three medals in the Confederations Cup (two winners’ and one runners-up medal) which makes them royalty as far as the tournament is concerned.
They are a tough opponent for Bendel Insurance to have to deal with in the second preliminary round as they attempt to make it to the group stages of the 2024 edition.
Venue for Bendel Insurance vs RS Berkane
The game between Bendel Insurance and RS Berkane will be played across two legs just like it was during the first preliminary round where the Benin Arsenal saw off ASO Chlef.
The game will be played at the home grounds of both teams and an aggregate scoreline will determine who goes on to the group stages for a shot at the 2024 Confederation Cup.
Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium, Edo State, the home of the Benin Arsenal, will host the first leg of the Bendel Insurance vs RS Berkane tie. The match will be played on 15 September. CAF will update the times in the coming days.
The second leg of the tie will be played at the Berkane Municipal Stadium on 29 September at a time that CAF will announce in the coming days.

Where to watch Bendel Insurance vs RS Berkane
SuperSport and StarTimes have the rights to the CAF Confederation Cup and may air the Bendel Insurance vs RS Brkane game. It is still unclear whether both legs of the tie will be on TV, however.
