Nigeria Premier Football League champions Enyimba of Aba have announced a new partnership with one of the world's growing mobile giants Infinix mobile.

Enyimba, who are under a new management since the start of this season, have been making some strides off the pitch and a new achievement has been attained in no distant time.

The new management led by Nigeria ex-international Kanu Nwankwo have previously secured the shirt deal with betting firm Stake and have now added the mobile firm to their collection.

Enyimba secure sponsor for “Player of the Match” award

NPFL champions Enyimba took to their official platforms to announce the partnership with Infinix on Sunday.

The announcement came barely hours before they faced Kwara United in their match day 7 clash at the Enyimba Stadium in Aba.

As contained in the official statement, Kanu said the players' welfare and their motivation remains a priority to his administration, noting that he is always willing to ensure that they get the best of treatment so they can be at their best during games.

“Starting from our home game this Sunday against Kwara United, we would start rewarding man of the match in our games.

“The deal with our partners sponsoring the award will see the winner getting an Infinix phone worth about three hundred thousand naira (N300,000) for every of our home games.

“Same gesture will also be given to the player that will emerge as the player of the month every month.”

“We would continue to motivate the players with the best standard practice as is obtainable in Europe.”

“The team has gone through some patch parts in the past weeks but with the away draw in Kaduna against Niger Tornadoes, they boys need all the motivation to get the job done against Kwara United in Aba and that's what we are doing.”

“The result in Kaduna was a good reaction to what happened in the continental games and with this kind of push the boys can get us back to the continent with a good run in the league this season,” the former Arsenal star concluded.

Kanu and the board hope that the new deal will spur the players to start delivering on the pitch following their exit from the African Football League and the slow start to the new NPFL season.

Sponsorship galore in the NPFL

It is currently raining sponsorship deals in the NPFL as a number of teams have secured some of them in the current campaign.

NPFL newcomers Sporting Lagos recently announced the arrival of “choplìfe” as the club's sleeve sponsor, adding to the shirt sponsor “Klasha” they have been using since the start of the season.

Rangers, also under new management, secured a shirt sponsor deal with Afrinvest – a three-year-deal worth N50 million naira per season.

Former NPFL champions Kano Pillars also secured a deal with “Rambo” to be its shirt sponsor in a deal worth N30 million naira.

Meanwhile, the management of the NPFL signed a broadcast deal with StarTimes worth N1.06 billion in its first season and continues to increase in the subsequent campaigns.

It will also be recalled that Enyimba signed a multi-dollar deal with Stake, although the financial details were not made public, but it is believed to be worth over N100 million naira per season.
