Who is the Black Queens all-time top scorer in official competitions? It is a tough nut to crack, considering the absence of records and proper documentation.

For this discourse, we will stick to the records from the Women's African Cup of Nations (WAFCON) and the FIFA Women's World Cup (FIFAWWC).

The heritage of Black Queens is rich in Africa. They have also given a good account of themselves on the world stage.

So, looking at the WAFCON and the FIFA Women's World Cup, which Black Queens player has the most goals?

Florence Okoe was a midfielder for the Black Queens and participated in the 2003 and 2007 FIFAWWC.

She scored her first two WAFCON goals in 2006 and scored another one in 2008. She also scored a FIFAWWC goal in 2007.

Her only FIFAWWC goal came via an 82nd-minute penalty in a 7-2 loss to Norway.

Elizabeth Addo first featured for the Black Queens in 2012 but did not get her tournament goal till 2016.

At WAFCON 2016, she scored three goals to finish joint second top scorer with Nigeria's Desire Oparanozie.

She scored her other tournament goal in 2018 as Ghana failed to qualify from the group stage despite hosting the tournament.

The Black Queens had a terrible 2010 WAFCON as they failed to qualify from their group.

They were in the same group with Equatorial Guinea (the eventual winners), Cameroon and Algeria.

The only bright spot for Ghana in that tournament was Agnes Aduako's four goals.

She scored two in the 2-1 win over Algeria, one in the 1-2 loss to Cameroon and another in the 1-3 loss to the eventual champions.

Anita Amankwa (5)

When the Black Queens finished second in the 2006 WAFCON, failing to stop the Super Falcons juggernaut, as they romped to a seventh title, Anita Amankwa was part of the show.

Her four WAFCON goals came in that tournament, as she scored two braces.

Her first brace came in a 2-1 group stage win over Cameroon, while the second came in a 3-1 (also in the group stage) win over DR Congo.

In the 2007 FIFAWWC, Amankwa scored her only World Cup goal.

Marvis Dgajmah was part of the Black Queens team in the 1999 World Cup. She also participated in the 2000 WAFCON, scoring her first two WAFCON goals.

She scored in the 2-0 group stage win over Cameroon and in the 6-3 third-place playoff.

In 2002, she scored in a 2-0 group stage victory over Mali and again in the semi-final in a 3-2 win over Cameroon.

She led the team to the final, losing 2-0 to Nigeria.

Her 1998 records are also unverifiable.

Adjoa Bayor was the Africa Women's Player of the Year in 2003.

She had a tremendous WAFCON 2000 tournament, where she scored three goals.

She finished second top scorer behind Mercy Akide and helped the Black Queens to third place after losing 1-0 to Banyana Bayana in the semi-final.

She also scored in the 6-3 third-place playoffs win over Zimbabwe.

She scored a goal each in the 2002 and 2004 tournaments and another in the 2007 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Alberta Sackey is officially the goal queen of the Black Queens of Ghana. She was a prominent figure for the women's national team of Ghana.

We have recorded five goals for her, which she scored from the 2000 WAFCON.

She was part of the Black Queens side, who featured in the 1998 Championships, but because we cannot verify the goals she scored in that tournament, we have excluded that year.

If her goals in the 1998 Championship are verified, she will be among the top ten all-time WAFCON scorers.

Sackey also played for Ghana at the 1999 and 2003 FIFAWWC.

She scored a fantastic goal for the Black Queens against Australia in the 2003 World Cup. Her two FIFAWWC goals were in a 2-1 win over Australia.

The goal received a nomination on FIFA.com as the greatest goal in FIFAWWC history.

She was the 2002 African Women's Footballer of the Year.

Alberta Sackey is the only Ghanaian to score two goals at the FIFAWWC.
