Former Nigerian defender, Waidi Akanni has assured that the Super Eagles will pick nothing but the three points against Cape Verde in Tuesday's 2022 World Cup qualifiers.
Recall that Nigeria began their campaign on a winning note after defeating Lone Stars of Liberia 2-0 at the Teslim Balogun Stadium, Lagos on Friday to move top of Group C on three points.
On the other hand, Cape Verde were held to a 1-1 draw against the Central Africa Republic (CAR) to share one point apiece.
Speaking with Goalballive, Akanni stated that nothing can prevent the Super Eagles from securing another victory in Cape Verde.
“The truth is that the current Super Eagles squad are determined and hungry to make a mark for themselves.
“I am sure that if the rain didn't affect the Teslim Balogun Stadium pitch, Liberia would have conceded more goals.
“However, I am optimistic that the game against Cape Verde will definitely bring out the best of the Super Eagles.
“I don't see anything stopping the team from picking the maximum point.”
