Chidozie Awaziem Biography, Net Worth, Salary, Wife, House, Cars

Chidozie Collins Awaziem is a Nigerian footballer who plays as a defender for the Portuguese side Boavista FC.

He was born in Enugu, Nigeria, on the 1st of January 1997 to Mr. and Mrs. Awaziem.

While it is possible that Chidozie has other siblings, they are not exactly the most popular and are not really known by the public.

Chidozie Awaziem Biography

Chidozie clearly has his career going for him and has seen a couple of transitions throughout his career as a defender.

Club Career

He started his football career in FC Porto in 2014 and was able to win the league title with the U-21 team.

The title marked an important turn in the Player's career who was only seventeen at the time and only featured for a couple of games while coming out from the reserve.

He made his first senior debut with the first team when he was still playing with the B team of the Segunda Liga.

The match was, however, friendly.

At the age of 19 in 2016, Chidozie played a competitive game for the first time with his team's main squad in a match where they lost to CD Feirense in Taca da Liga.

He had another opportunity with the team as he again appeared in the Primera Liga in a match held in February, where they played against SL Benfica and won.

In the 2017/2018 season, he was loaned to FC Nantes, a French club, and his first match with the team took place in August 2017, where he was used as a substitute in a match against Lille OSC, where his team lost.

After a full season and a couple of features with the senior team, Chidozie was loaned to Caykur Rizespor in January 2019, playing there till the end of the campaign.

In August, he was also loaned to CD Leganes. Ahead of the 2020/2021 season, he got a temporary deal with Boavista FC in Portugal, intending to sign a four-year permanent deal with the club in June 2021.

Chidozie played a key role in helping Boavista avoid relegation in the Portuguese League and was rewarded with a permanent four-year deal until 2025.

In September this year, Boavista FC temporarily transferred Chidozie to Turkey's Alanyaspor, and the loan is still valid and will only run out at the end of the 2021/2022 season.

The club announced his loan deal via a statement on its website.

International Career

While Chidozie had always expressed his commitment to play for the Nigeria National team, he had only featured for a couple of U-17 and U-21 matches.

However, he got his chance two months after turning 19 and his talent as a defender became more obvious.

At the age of 19, in May 2016, Chidozie was called to join the Nigerian national team.

He immediately was slotted into the team not too long after and featured in two quick, friendly matches against Luxembourg and Mali.

He played with his first competitive match with the senior team in June 2017 in a match where the super Eagles defeated Togo.

With a great performance against Togo, Coach Gernot Rohr rewarded him by picking him to be a part of the 23-man squad to play in the 2018 FIFA World Cup in Russia.

The call-up was a dream come true for the Nigerian, and he was indeed relishing the prospect of playing in Russia.

However, an early group stage exit for the Super Eagles in their Russia outing ensured that he was an unused substitute throughout the tournament's three games until the super Eagles exited.

Following a disappointing personal campaign in Russia with zero minutes, Chidozie again got his chance after being selected as part of the squad for the 2019 African Cup of Nations.

Wife

Chidozie married his longtime girlfriend, Oby, in a private wedding ceremony with only their friends and family in attendance.

The wedding was so private that the couple, as it stands, had no public picture about the wedding on blogs or on their social media.

Chidoze wife, Oby Awaziem, keeps a low profile on social media, and there is really nothing much to pick about her as she only periodically updates her timeline and isn't the most conversational type.

Hence her lifestyle is more or less a complete mystery.

The couple welcomed their first child, Christel, on the 29th of July 2020, and Chidozie took to his official Instagram account to express his joy and directed his appreciation to God for making childbirth a successful one.

He posted a picture of himself and holding his daughter with the following caption: “I can't explain the way I feel right now. Thank you, God, for giving me, Christel.Latest Dad in town.”

House And Cars

Chidozie, from all indications, seems to be a private type that prefers to keep his life out of the prying eyes of media and seems to enjoy his peace.

His wife is definitely no different as she also keeps pretty much everything about her and her family on a low.

Hence the couple really seems to have a lot of things in common when it comes to who knows what, and as such, it is extremely difficult to tell if the Nigerian has a house.

There is really nothing available in the media to give anything away about his home.

However, it is believed that with time, the footballer may become much more open with his home and let people have known a thing or two.

Fortunately, Chidozie is more open about his car, and it seems like he has just one ride (that is as much as he let the public see).

He has been spotted with a Porsche a couple of times and has also posted pictures of the same car on his social media several times.

Salary And Net Worth

Chidozie still plays with Boavista, and while he is on loan with Turkey's Alanyaspor, the Portuguese side is still responsible for his salary.

However, how big the salary is still a subject of privacy as neither the club nor Chidozie has talked about it publicly.

Nevertheless, the Nigerian is expected to have a quite attractive net worth of around 1 million to 3 million dollars.
