Community Shield: Iheanacho speaks after winner against Man City

Leicester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho has reacted after helping his side win the Community Shield against his former club Manchester City.

Four Nigerians featured on the night but it was Iheanacho who became the star as the FA Cup winners beat the Premier League Champions to lift their first silverware of the season.

The former Manchester City man came off the bench to score the only goal of the match in the season’s curtain-raiser at Wembley.

Ihenacho fired home from the penalty spot in the 89th minute after Nathan Ake had fouled him in the box.

Following their win, the 24-year-old Super Eagles attacker took to his social media accounts to give thanks to God.

“All glory to God, Iheanacho said in a post on his Twitter and Instagram pages via Soccernet.

Congratulatory messages also poured in for Iheanacho from some of his international teammates and Nigeria’s celebrities following the victory.
