Ed Woodward Set To Announce His Departure From Man Utd

Manchester United are keen on hiring Everton director Marcel Brands as they search for a new transfer chief.

According to The Sun, the Everton man, 58, is a leading candidate for the vacant Old Trafford role, with his Toffees deal coming to an end next summer.

The report also suggests executive vice-chairman Woodward could depart Man Utd.

United have been on the hunt for a new director of football in recent months to take the strain off the club chief.

Manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would surely welcome the news of Brands arrival, as he aims to bring in players who can turn the Red Devils into title winners again.

The Everton bigwig joined the club in 2018 and got to work changing the recruitment strategy of the Merseyside outfit.

United are hoping to get back to the days of bringing in big-name teenagers such as Wayne Rooney and Cristiano Ronaldo, the report adds.
