Juventus have initiated a £53 million asking fee for their star defender and Manchester City target Joao Cancelo, that’s according to Tuttosport.
The 25-year-old has dazzled in his first season in the Serie A, attracting interest from numerous top clubs across Europe, as well as the two Manchester giants.

According to the report, Juventus want a squad overhaul following the exit of Massimiliano Allegri, thus they are willing to offload Cancelo.
The Portuguese international is highly regarded as one of Europe’s best fullbacks, having had astounding success with club and country at such a young age.
He is primarily known for his tendency to drive forward and help out attackers in the final third and can camp himself in the opposition half and provide extensive attacking support.
And this is crucial for any team who embrace the possession-based style of play like the Sky Blues.
From a tactical viewpoint, Cancelo would be a controversial addition to City.
So, Cancelo seems like a rather redundant target for the Premier League champions.

And for a huge £53 million, it would perhaps be wiser for Manchester City to turn their interest to other options in the market.
