Harry Edward Kane is an English professional footballer who plays for Tottenham Hotspur football club and the English national team.

He is London-born forward is one of the most prolific and most – feared center forwards in the world due to his excellent scoring rates and overall gameplay, which has seen him nicknamed The HurriKane.

He was born into a family of two in Walthamstow before they moved to Chingford, where Kane obtained his basic education with Larkswood Primary Academy and Chingford Foundation School.

Kane kick-started his footballing career at just six years of age when he first appeared for Ridgeway Rovers, a local club, before taking it professionally by enrolling in Arsenal youth academy.

However, his natural build in his early years proved to be a stumbling block in his Arsenal career, which saw him released from the club because he was perceived as too “overweight” and too “short” for professional football.

After another failed trial with Spurs, Kane then returned to Ridgeway Rovers until 2004.

When he clocked eleven, he got another shot with a trial at Watford before finally joining Tottenham, playing as a midfielder.

Failing to secure a spot with the first team, Harry Kane went on several loan spells across England with clubs like Leyton Orient, Millwall, Norwich City, and Leicester city from 2010-2014. He was able to muster 56 appearances, scoring 14 goals.

He returned to White Hart Lane (Tottenham's former home ground) in the summer of 2013, where he has gone on to make over 242 league appearances for the first team while netting 166 times, making him the club's highest goal scorer of all time.

However, his breathtaking exploits for the North-London club were never enough to win him any silverware to date.

On the international front, Harry Kane was called up by his country for the first time in January 2010 for a tournament in Portugal at the under-17 level.

Although he missed the tournament through illness, the English junior team went on to win it.

His growth as a lethal striker was evident with his exploits with the under-19 national team, which saw him convert six goals in 14 games.

He also represented England in both under-20 and under-21 levels, appearing at the 2013 FIFA under-20 World Cup and the UEFA European Championships in 2015.

His goal-scoring exploits with Tottenham during the 2014/15 Premier League season saw him get his first senior call-up.

After declaring his desire to play for England rather than Ireland, his father's country of origin, which Harry is also eligible to play for, he was named in the English squad for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Lithuania in 2016.

He made his first appearance in a big international game against Italy in a friendly game days later.

After a series of impressive performances and goal streaks, Harry Kane became one of England's star players, captaining them to the Russia 2018 World Cup.

England reached the semi-finals with Kane proving pivotal in most of his appearances but could do little as they lost the final spot to an in-form Croatia.

He also won the tournament's golden boot award with six goals, the first English man to achieve that feat since 1986.

He recorded two assists and one goal for his country the following year in the inaugural UEFA Nation's League tournament while captaining the side.

In Euro 2020, Kane continued his goal-scoring form as he won his second Golden Boot award on the international scene.

He scored four times as England reached the final, eventually losing the title to Italy through penalties.

He confirmed his romantic relationship with Goodman on his Twitter account in June 2019 when the striker further relayed that both of them had finally married.

Whether he will finally win a title with his boyhood club is yet to be seen.

INJURIES

His absence has since proven to be a detriment to his team's form, as they are generally not as effective without their star striker.

He has sustained numerous ankle problems at Tottenham, which saw him remain on the sidelines for months most of the time.

He sustained his first significant injury in 2016 with a torn ligament which saw him sidelined for ten games.

In mid-2018, Harry Kane missed the end of the football season, missing three games in preparation for the FIFA World Cup in Russia.

But not as many feared, he recovered quickly to be included in Gareth Southgate's team and went on to lead them to the semi-final while scooping the tournament's golden boot.

It was a testament to Kane's quality as both a footballer and a person.

He missed six weeks the following year through another ligament problem.

Unfortunately, he could not recover in time as Tottenham lost the UEFA Champions League final to Liverpool after a fine run in the campaign.

He has since then ruptured his tendon in a 1-0 league defeat to Southampton and a 3-1 home defeat to Liverpool.
