A cup final in July, 13th place in November
El-Kanemi Warriors won the final 1-0 at Asaba on 11 July 2026 through a 19th minute penalty from Muktari Ismail. First final. Lost. The run is recorded in our Federation Cup winners archive, and a club founded in 2022 had also finished fourth in the league, so the summer began with real standing.
The squad then changed. Linus Christopher, a defender from Sunshine Stars, signed a three year deal on 20 July 2026. A midfielder named Abdulraman had arrived from the Abuja side Mahanaim three days earlier on a two year contract. No complete list of departures turned up.
What Ikorodu City players earn
Nobody outside the club knows.
Ikorodu City is privately owned and publishes no wage bill. A figure attached to a named player would be a guess, and we will not print one.
What is public is the floor. Blueprint reported on 25 June 2026 that the National Sports Commission and the Nigeria Football Federation had approved a minimum of ₦2m a month for every registered NPFL player from 2026/27, yet Daily Trust still called the same figure proposed two days later, so the paperwork was clearly not settled everywhere. No source we found says what happens to a club that falls short, or whether Ikorodu City has met the floor. We have not converted the amount into dollars. No dated official rate was found for this page.

We counted the scorers ourselves from the Sportmonks match feed on 6 November 2026. All 15 goals carry a name, spread across 10 players. Farouk Salami and Ikechukwu Junior have three each, Donald Obiajulu two. Two feed entries needed hand corrections. Check twice.
The split that matters is venue. Ikorodu City have taken 11 points from five home games, 2.20 a game, and only 3 from six away, 0.50 a game. Their Lagos neighbours look different in our recalculated table, because Sporting Lagos have more points away, 10 from six, than at home, 5 from four, while Inter Lagos sit at 0.50 at home and 0.60 away. Six of Ikorodu City's 11 matches ended with two goals conceded, five of them away from home, and only two of those five earned a point.
Onikan, and a venue puzzle in the feed
The club's adopted home is the Mobolaji Johnson Arena at Onikan, shared with Inter Lagos and Sporting Lagos. Ikorodu City beat Kano Pillars 3-0 there on 12 April 2026. Sportmonks, however, lists Enyimba International Stadium in Aba as the venue for all five 2026/27 home games, and for the Sporting Lagos game of 30 September too. That looks like a data error.
