Int’l Friendlies: Four S’Eagles Test Positive To Corona Virus

Four Super Eagles players have reportedly just tested positive to Coronavirus, that's according to BSNSports.com.ng

In preparation ahead of the Friday’s international friendly match against Algeria, the players were involved in a COVID 19 test today and reports confirmed it that four Super Eagles players have tested positive for COVID-19 in Austria.

This could be a big blow to the team and to Nigerians who are seeking some sort of revenge over the African champions tomorrow.

Super Eagles Head Coach, Genot Rohr who refused to mention the affected players, has said that they are fine. He said: “I won’t reveal their names, they are fine now.”

Another round of tests will be conducted before the game tomorrow.

***UPDATED***

The NFF have come out to rebuff the above story saying:

”Please discountenance any reports that some of our players tested positive to COVID 19 ahead of tomorrow's friendly game against Algeria.
It is a blatant falsehood.”

They corrected that Rohr was misrepresented: ”Coach Rohr said that since the outbreak of the pandemic, four of our players had tested positive but were all now fully recovered from the virus and back in action. The results of the COVID 19 tests carried out on the Super Eagles ahead of tomorrow's game are still being awaited.”
