Manchester United Shirt Numbers Alex Telles Could Wear At Old Trafford

Porto left-back Alex Telles could before the international transfer window shuts on Monday become a Manchester United player.

United have monitored the Brazil international this summer and Porto are open to offers for less than his £36million release clause because his contract expires next summer.

Telles currently wears the No.13 at Porto and has kept hold of that number ever since.

Here are the main squad numbers currently up for grabs at United:

No.7

We're joking. The No.7 does not belong on a left-back's back.

No.19

No.19 could be an option for Telles, with the shirt vacant after Marcus Rashford was handed the No.10 jersey in 2018.

No.27

United’s No.27 shirt is also up for grabs after Marouane Fellaini’s exit in 2019.

No.28

No.28 is a possibility for Telles following Angel Gomes’ move to Boavista. Previous wearers include David Beckham.

No.30

The Uruguayan Guillermo Varela, another full-back, was the last player to don this number.

No.32

No.32 has been available since 2017 after Sam Johnstone joined Aston Villa. Carlos Tevez is the biggest name to pull it on for United before his move to City.

Chris Smalling's 12 and Andreas Pereira's 15 could also become available in the coming days as they prepare for possible moves away from United.
