Nduka Ugbade Wants To Become Next Super Eagles Coach

Former Super Eagles and assistant Flying Eagles coach Nduka Ugbade had disclosed that his coaching dream is to lead the Super Eagles team to win the FIFA world cup.

Ugbade was part of the Flying Eagles team that won the silver medal at the 1989 FIFA Under-20 tournament in Saudi Arabia.

Speaking with brila.net Ugbade revealed that he hopes to achieve his dream to coach Nigeria’s senior national team and also coach a bigger team outside the shores of the country in the future.

“I have assisted Manu Garba, we have gone to the world cup to win it together, we had also gone to the U20 world cup together as well, maybe the next for me is to take over as one of the coaches of the senior national teams, maybe,’ Ugbade said.

He scored his first international goal for the Super Eagles of Nigeria in a Tunisia 1994 CAF African Cup of Nations qualifiers against Ethiopia played in 1993 at the National Stadium Surulere, Lagos in a 7-1 routing.

The former Golden Eaglets assistant coach’s low point in football came when national team coach, Clemens Westerhof excluded him from the USA 94, FIFA World Cup squad. He likened it to a football suicide.
