N’Golo Kante has been named winner of UEFA’s Champions League midfielder of the season award.
There were rumours in recent days from Italy claiming that Jorginho, the other Chelsea nominee up for the award, was going to win it but we all now know better!
Kevin de Bruyne was the other shortlisted player to miss out – understandably given he lost the final.
The humble France star, Kante, is a worthy winner – he was exceptional in every knockout round including the final, and there was arguably no better performer at any position in the whole competition.
Ruben Dias beat Cesar Azpilicueta and Antonio Rudiger to the defender award.
