Noko Alice Matlou is a South African women’s footballer who plays as a defender for Spanish Primera Federación side SD Eibar. She was born on 30 September 1985 in Polokwane, South Africa.

She has represented the South Africa women’s national football team both as a striker and a defender.

In 2008, Matlou became the first South African to be named African Women’s Footballer of the Year.

After finishing as runners-up thrice in the Women's Africa Cup of Nations, Noko Matlou finally clinched the Women's Africa Cup of Nations title with the Bayana Bayana in the 2022 edition of the tournament in Morocco, to record a successful journey in the national female team.

In September 2009, a controversial incident occurred as she was subjected to a gender inspection by a referee in the presence of the opposition captain prior to South Africa’s match against Ghana at Caledonian Stadium, Pretoria.

She was allowed to play in the match after being confirmed as female by the opposition captain.

Matlou gained popularity within the national team by scoring six goals at the 2008 African Women's Championship in Equatorial Guinea, South Africa lost the final to the host.
