The People's Elephants have been unbeaten in their two recent matches. They had a 1-1 draw at the Enyimba International Stadium to Remo Stars last week and a 1-2 away win at Kwara United two weeks ago. The four points helped them climb to 3rd in the NPFL standings.
The eight-time NPFL champions have been in decent form in recent weeks, picking up five wins and three draws in their last 10 NPFL games. A strong defence has been the cornerstone of their success, conceding just 12 goals in 15 games, the second-best tally in the NPFL this season.

The Elephants are just one point above the 4th and 5th placed teams, who also want to make it into the championship group. With just six points separating them and NPFL Group A leaders Bendel Insurance, taking all three points in this game will boost The Elephants' chances of finishing in the top three and qualifying for the Super Six.
