Enyimba football club of Aba players have been handsomely rewarded by the Abia State governor, Alex Otti, for emerging champions of the 2022/23 Nigeria Premier League season.
The governor had pledged to honour the players and those running the affairs of the club as he hosted the team at the government house, Umuahia, over the weekend.

Under the excellent guidance of former chairman of the club, Felix Anyansi-Agwu, head coach Finidi George, his assistants and other support staff, Enyimba Football Club clinched a historic ninth domestic title on superior goal-difference at the intense NPL Super Six playoffs held at Lagos in June.
A victory that was met with sheer jubilation and immense pride from the team and its die-hard supporters, and a return to the CAF Champions League with which they have a rich history amongst the Nigerian clubs.
The governor however, did not fulfill his pledge to the players only, but also to the head coach Finidi George, along with his assistants and other dedicated support staff, for their valuable contributions to the success of the club last season.
These individuals will receive varying sums of money, commensurate with their efforts in guiding the team to a ninth league title.
