The 2023/24 Italian Serie A season is drawing closer and Victor Osimhen has joined up with his teammates at Napoli for pre-season preparations.

He spent his whole holiday in Nigeria doing social work and catching up with old friends and making new ones. It was a humbling experience for the Nigeria national football team ace according to sources close to him.

Now, he has returned to the city of Naples, Italy, to get ready to make Nigerians and the Partenopei proud. His future, however, is still up for debate.

Read on for details of Osimhen and Napoli’s pre-season schedule.

Osimhen and Napoli kick off pre-season in Dimaro

The beautiful scenery of Dimaro, Italy, is the first point of call for Victor Osimhen and his Napoli teammates in their pre-season preparations.

They will be training at the Dimaro Folgarida in full view of nature as they attempt to rekindle their teamwork ahead of their first Scudetto defence in 33 years.

The Napoli camp, sponsored by eBay Italy, began on Friday 14 July and Osimhen joined up with the team on Tuesday 18 July. He joined the afternoon session which was “an initial phase of activation, carried out technical exercises in groups, technical-tactical work and a themed match” according to the club’s official website. It was also the first meeting between Osimhen and Rudi Garcia, who replaced Luciano Spaletti at the beginning of July as the club’s manager.

Fans have watched them train at the Carciato field since the start of their camp. They were especially loud for their hero Osimhen who signed several autographs after training. See the rest of the schedule that the Super Eagles striker will be following in pre-season along with the games they will play as they prepare to defend their 2022/23 title.

Osimhen and co to begin title defence against newly-promoted side

Rudi Garcia and his men will begin their title defence against newly-promoted side Frosinone on 20 August 2023. The match will be aired starting from 5:30 PM Nigerian time on that day.

Sassuolo (27 August), Lazio (3 September) and Genoa (17 September) are their next three matches.

Osimhen could be far from Napoli by the time the Serie A season comes around, however, as he is still a protagonist of the transfer news scene.

The European summer transfer window will end on 1 September. The Partenopei will be hoping that club President Aurelio De Laurentiis’ words of assurance that Osimhen will play at the Diego Armando Maradona Stadium next season will remain true by 2 September.
