Nigeria’s Victor Osimhen and Egypt’s Mohamed Salah are two of the most prolific players on the continent of Africa at the moment.
Both players are also the poster boys for the National teams and club sides.
Osimhen has been an inspiration to many at Napoli. He was key to their first league title win in over 33 years.
Although many would argue that he was not a regular feature in the side until last term due to injuries, he has been able to put all of that behind him and stay relevant in the scheme of things.
On Salah’s part, he has been there done that with Liverpool since joining them in 2017. The Egyptian forward’s records are superb at Merseyside and cannot be rivalled by many other Africans who have played in the Premier League before him.
Osimhen had a rewarding season with Napoli by winning the Scudetto, while the same can’t be said for Liverpool.
The Reds missed out on the Champions League and they do not have any silverware to show for their efforts.
At the national team level, the two players failed to help their sides reach the World Cup in Qatar but they have done enough to lead them to the Africa Cup of Nations happening next year in Cote d’Ivoire.
Mohamed Salah🇪🇬, Andre Onana🇨🇲, Victor Osimhen🇳🇬 & Yassine Bounou🇲🇦are the only African players nominated for the men's Ballon d'Or 2023.

On a personal note, we want to ascertain who has scored more goals between Osimhen and Salah in 2023.
Who has scored more goals between Osimhen and Salah in 2023?
Without any doubt, Osimhen and Salah have produced excellent performances and goals for their sides in the year under review.
Both Osimhen and Salah alongside Algeria’s Riyad Mahrez were strong contenders for the 2023 CAF African Player of the Year award – an award Ghanian legend Asamoah Gyan has tipped Osimhen to win.
Victor Osimhen eventually pipped Salah to the award to become the fifth Nigerian to do so.
In 2023, Osimhen has scored 33 goals for Napoli. He scored 21 goals in 25 games before the start of the 2023/24 Serie A season. Despite the injuries, Osimhen has continued his fine form as he has already scored eight times this season.
On the other hand, Salah has only been able to score 26 goals in all competitions for Liverpool in 2023. The Egyptian scored 14 of those goals in the 2022/23 season and has 12 goals in 18 Premier League games this season, and one more in the Carabao Cup.
On the international scene, Osimhen has also done better as he has scored five goals in just his last two appearances for the Super Eagles, while Salah has managed four goals in 2023 for Egypt.
In addition, the Super Eagles striker won the Serie A Golden Boot at the end of last season, while Salah could not make his mark in the Premier League as he was beaten to the award by the excellent Erling Haaland.
At the end of the 2023 AFCON Qualifiers, the Nigeria star also finished as the top scorer with 10 goals to keep displaying his excellent form in front of goal.
Clearly, Osimhen has been the more prolific player in 2023 between the two players.
