Super Eagles forward Victor Osimhen returned to action last weekend, after a one-month hiatus. He picked up where he left off, registering an assist that ensured his team would go home with all three points.
With that in mind, there was a lot of Osimhen transfer news last weekend; and Mikel Arteta's interest in the former Wolfsburg player made the rounds.
With the interest from Premier League heavyweights like Chelsea and Manchester United, Napoli have reportedly put a £150m fee on their prized striker. On that note, the Gunners may resort to other options like throwing in a couple of players in order to sweeten the deal.
These are three players that Napoli might consider in a deal for Osimhen:
Jorginho made the switch from Chelsea to Arsenal in January this year. While he has 10 Premier League appearances under his belt, the Italian midfielder started just four of those games.
It may interest you to know that Jorginho plied his trade at Napoli a few years ago; as he spent over four years with the Partenopei between January 2014 and July 2018, amassing a total of 133 appearances across all competitions.
With his lack of playing time this season, Jorginho would likely welcome a return to Napoli this summer. However, a deal wouldn't do much in terms of offsetting the high transfer fee for Osimhen.
Another player that might be worth considering is Nuno Tavares. The Portuguese player is currently on loan at Nottingham Forest until June next year.
The former Benfica player has played just three games so far this season. Like Jorginho, a trade involving Tavares wouldn't take much off Osimhen's transfer fee.
Arsenal purchased Thomas Partey for about €50m three years ago. He has had an interesting career, winning a La Liga, Europa League and UEFA Super Cup title with Atletico Madrid. The Ghanaian player also won the FA Community Shield title with Arsenal earlier this year.
However, Partey hasn't had much playing time this campaign. He has just three appearances in the Premier League this season, starting three games. Napoli could seriously consider a deal involving the 30-year-old midfielder.
