Every team wants Osimhen – Peseiro

Super Eagles coach, Jose Peseiro, believes that Victor Osimhen is going to be on the radar of every top club in Europe when the 2023 summer transfer window opens.

The 23-year-old forward has been in rich vein of form for Napoli and is currently the top scorer in Serie A this season with nine goals from ten games despite missing five weeks due to injury.

In an interview with Italian publication, TuttoMercatoWeb, Peseiro praised the 23-year-old’s attributes and believes that every team in the world wants to sign him.

“He scores a lot and he is young. It is certainly not easy, usually, a centre forward finds this level later on. But he always scores, at this moment I don’t think I’m wrong if I say that every team in the world wants to buy him. He knows how to press, he knows how to score. He knows how to use his body: he would know how to play in all teams,” he told TuttoMercatoWeb.

Peseiro also spoke on Napoli’s chances of winning the Scudetto this season and why keeping a player like Osimhen is essential no matter how difficult it is.

“Napoli are playing very well, they are first, the benefits are for both. For him, for the coach, for his teammates,” he told the Italian publication.

“Keeping a player like this for Napoli will not be easy given the value and The requests he will have. He is a complete center forward: he assists, scores from the right, left, he is strong in the defensive phase, he knows how to press and he is not easy to defend for a central defense. In June, in the summer, I believe that Napoli will ask for several million for him. And I think there will be many clubs to offer them: he is young and still has great potential for growth.”

Osimhen has now contributed 11 goals (nine goals and two assists) for the Partenopei, who hold an eight-point lead in Serie A.
