Mother of late former Super Eagles striker Rashidi Yekini has stated clearly that she is still feeling the pains nine years after her son’s demise.
There were serious controversies surrounding the death of Yekini considering how the former Nigerian striker was taken by some of his family members.
Yekini's younger brother Hakeem and sister Simiat were among those who took him away from his house in Ibadan to an unknown place for treatment, unfortunately, they are both dead.
They claimed that the Super Eagles legend was not mentally stable which made them seek help in a traditional way.
”I have heard many things from people who said Rashidi was killed by his people and I want to state clearly that I am his mother and how would I kill someone who built a house for me,” Rashidi Yekini's mother, Sikiratu, told Legit.ng.
”We only tried to help him when he was having issues and we took him to a place which I don't know because Hakeem and Simiat got the contact of the traditional man.
”Rashidi's death was not caused by anyone and I am still feeling the pains of losing my son because he was the breadwinner of the family.”
