However, in light of recent happenings which are set to smear the Brazilian’s reputation, Madrid have decided against taking the risk on Neymar.
Mbappe was nominated the Ligue 1 player of the season and so far the Frenchman has refused to rule out an exit from the club.
President Florentino Perez is expecting to start a new era of superstars at Real with some other high-profile players linked with a switch.
Eden Hazard is awaited to join from Chelsea, while Manchester United star Paul Pogba is also high on their list.
The choice of the move away from Neymar was caused by the Brazilian’s growing off-field activities.
The Frenchman, who cost PSG upwards of €180 million, will be offloaded only for a world record fee that is anticipated to be way more than what Barcelona got for Neymar.
