Super Eagles players that won the English Premier League
Bear in mind, the Premier League is the biggest top-flight league Nigerians have played in during the course of their careers. The very best of the Super Eagles have featured there at some point in time.
Here, we take a look at the three elite Super Eagles players to have won the Premier League, the most popular league on Earth.
1. Nwankwo Kanu
Nigerian great Nwankwo Kanu became the first Super Eagle to win the English Premier League, a title he won twice.
Kanu joined Arsenal in February 1999 but waited three whole years before he won his first EPL title. He played 23 league games for Arsenal and netted three goals as the Gunners won the English top-flight in 2002.
In 2004, Kanu was part of the famous Arsene Wenger ‘Invincibles' team. Although he didn't play much, appearing just 10 times and scoring just one goal, Papillo won his second EPL title.
2. John Obi Mikel
The retired Super Eagles captain became the second Nigerian to win the Premier League in 2010, before going on to win it again in 2015.
Mikel joined Chelsea in 2006 but had to wait for four years to get his first EPL medal as the Carlo Ancelotti side won the title in the 2009/10 season with the Nigerian playing 25 league matches and scoring no goal.
During the 2014/15 season, Mikel won his second EPL title, this time under coach Jose Mourinho. He made 18 league appearances and scored zero goals.
3. Victor Moses
Former Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) winner Victor Moses, is the third Nigerian to ever win the Premier League.
Moses was part of the Chelsea team that reigned supreme during the 2016/17 season where he became the Nigerian with the most Premier League appearances for a title winning team.
The winger featured 34 times under Antonio Conte and scored three goals.
Super Eagles players that won the German Bundesliga
A handful of Nigerians have played in the German Bundesliga. Players like Pascal Ojigwe, Sunday Oliseh, Austin Okocha, Victor Ikpeba, Obafemi Martins and a few others.
However, only four Nigerians have had the luxury of winning the German Bundesliga title. They are:

Victor Boniface played a crucial role for Bayer Leverkusen in their Bundesliga title victory on 14 April 2024. He scored in the title-deciding game against Werder Bremen.
The Ondo-born striker hit double digit goals and assists for Xabi Alonso's record-breaking team who strolled to the title without losing a game to record their first league title in 120 years of the club's existence.
